Pros: Tastes good. Like good normal good.
Cons: That doesn't mean you should eat the whole bag.
The Bottom Line: Really good - definitely something I'll continue to eat on this gluten-free diet.

Special Note: One of the things we've (me and my doctor) been curious about is if I have a gluten sensitivity. I'm in the process of testing this theory. Thus, you might notice quite a few reviews from me on the foods I try in this area.
************************************
I'm a realistic skeptic.
Translation: I realize that when you've been eating crap all of your life and you attempt to make things healthier for yourself, you should be prepared to eat things that don't have a great taste.
Gluten-free to me meant tasteless or funky-tasting or even unrecognizable in taste.
People were telling me, oh no theres some stuff out there that really does taste good
.youd be surprised
Oh yeah?
In an effort to prove them wrong (or maybe right) I went right for the jugular. In other words, Im a sweet tooth freak and I was convinced that all of the sweet stuff was icky.
After all, sugar-free stuff has (generically) not been my friend. Not only does that stuff not taste good, but it also wreaks havoc on my ahem digestive system.
Again, while at Amazon, I searched on snacks that were gluten-free and this product - Pamela's Simplebites, Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies bubbled to the top from an overall star perspective.
With fifteen people giving a variety of feedback, I decided to take a chance and order it. And while I realize that I was taking a chance (you get 12 7 ounce packages in your order), I thought that if it truly made me ill, Id just give it to those who insisted that Id find these great tasting products.
The seven ounce pouches are resealable and extremely easy to tote around. I opened up my first bag and ate one - it tasted pretty good. I ate a couple more. Mmmmmm. Crunchy. Good number of chocolately chips. Not all that far away from how Keebler's Chocolate Chip Cookies taste. Then I waited. Surely digestive issues would occur. Or maybe some bad after taste.
Not at all.
And then I ate some more. And pretty soon, 1/3 of the bag was gone. That's when I decided to take a look at the nutritional information.
Serving size - 4
Servings per container - 8
Calories per serving - 130
Total Fat - 6g
Total Carbs - 18g
Total Sugar - 10g
Okay, I had to face it. Just because it was "natural" and gluten-free, it didn't mean it was calorie/carb/fat free.
Although I haven't made my way through all 12 pouches yet, I will tell you that these are my snack of choice for the time being. The pouch does stay pretty air tight and I've even caught my 13 year old son sneaking in a cookie or two because he thinks that they taste good too.
Ingredients include rice flour, organic naturally evaporated cane sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and cloves.
