If you walk up and down the beauty aisles you'll notice there's a plethora of pre-moistened cleansing towelettes. The choices are endless and each brand seems to have their own version competing for attention. I've tried many and I can say that hands down the best of the bunch is Neutrogena Pre Moistened Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.
The towelettes come in a plastic box and you can purchase refills. I am reviewing the refills because I have never bought the plastic dispenser. It takes up too much room and I prefer to have my towelettes straight out of the packet. The packaging has a re-sealable sticky flap and you have to make sure to stick it down hard to avoid the product drying out. The adhesive is pretty good though, I haven't had any issues with dryness.
Neutrogena claims:
- Gently and effectively dissolve all traces of dirt, oil and make-up.
- Patent pending technology is so effective it easily removes waterproof mascara
- Leaves skin thoroughly clean with no heavy residue, so there's no need to rinse.
- Ophthalmologist tested
- Dermatologist tested
- Allergy tested
- Alcohol free
I purchase a pack of 25 for about $5.
Although this product is intended as a 1-step cleanser, I do not use it that way. I first use a separate eye make-up remover, although while travelling I have used these towelettes to remove my eye make-up and found it very effective and safe. I also don't like to not rinse the product off, I follow with my facial cleanser. It doesn't feel like overkill, I in fact don't think cleansing towelettes can take the place of a proper rinse-off cleanser.
Neutrogena Towelettes removed my make-up thoroughly. They are non-greasy and have a light, clean scent that doesn't linger. They don't dry me out and don't irritate my skin. What more could I ask for?
This product has become a staple in my bathroom. I knew how much I relied on it when I ran out while travelling recently and my face just didn't feel as clean as it usually does. Neutrogena Towelettes are a great product that effectively removed make-up without irritating or leaving my skin feeling oily.
