Kristina:

Great review! I'm a Quicken addict. I've been using it for so long that I used to be able to drive over to Intuit and pick up a copy each year. I've been looking at Neat Receipts for awhile, read your review (again!) and am going to go out and buy this scanner.

Thanks. Fantastic job, as usual.

Hope you're doing well.

First of all I would like to say that this is a great review of the receipt scanner. Job well done.

I noticed that you mention, "the Vista beast" and I have seen a lot of bad flack going around about Vista and issues with drivers and products not working properly with Vista.

I just have to say in defense of "the beast", that Microsoft has been working on this operating system for about six years and during that time, the beta versions of the operating system were available to all these companies to test their products and write compatible drivers.

In my opinion, it isn't Microsoft's fault that some of these companies sat on their hands for six years doing nothing until Vista was released to the public and now everybody cries foul at Microsoft when their scanner, printer, and sound card (or in my case video card and RAID controller) doesn't work properly in Vista.

I am not a Microsoft advocate in any way shape of form, but I think we ought to lay the blame where it belongs in regards to Vista. If the product does not work properly with Vista, it is entirely the fault of the manufacturer for not providing the proper drivers for the new (and fortold coming) operating system when they have had it in their possesion (or at least access to it) for six years and did nothing to correct these issues before hand.

Just my opinion...

Gr8ful ;-)
