I've always liked Logitech mouses. Simple and cheap - and somehow the shape of the mouse always satisfied me more than the corresponding Microsoft version.
The idea of having a cordless mouse has been a dream of mine for a while. Checking the Epinions, I found this Logitech cordless mouse. But it was optical.
I've had scary optical experiences before - mostly because they were forced on me by the university. Sun optical mouses - the ones that would never work on any other surface than the small ugly metal grid they came with.
But people kept praising this mouse, and I decided to try. It wasn't a disappointment. Not only did I get rid of the restricting wire, I don't have to worry about the dust or other stuff getting stuck inside the ball mechanism of 'regular' mouses.
People have been complaining about the battery life with these mouses. I've been using this one for one month, and I haven't changed the batteries. I used to use a white cloth on top of my mouse pad (as the manual recommended), but I gave it up, as I decided batteries are not that expensive. So I dumped the white cloth and started using it on a black mouse pad... and I still haven't replaced them.
People also complained about the weight of the mouse. These are personal preferences, of course. To me, the added weight gives a more accurate feeling (it stays where it is)... or is it the optical mechanism?
Nevertheless, I've been _very happy_ with this mouse for as long as I've had it. And I think I paid $35 for it... and it seems UBid bidding is at $20 right now. In any case, I love this mouse, and I recommend it to everyone.
