This is the third refrigerator I've owned in my lifetime. I had a great GE that lasted for over 20 years. I then bought a nightmare of a Maytag that froze up so that I lost all of my food several times. The only solution each time was to empty it completely and let it defrost for 24 hrs. The last time this happened I went fridge shopping!
Based on the recommendation of the saleswoman at Best Buy, I decided to take a chance on an LG. OH MY! After four months, I find this fridge to be VERY user friendly. My vegies stay very fresh for much longer -- a nice surprise! The layout is marvelous. What I use most frequently is readily available -- no peering around things to look for something in the back. It holds a 9x13 pan (or larger) without a need to re-arrange everything else. In addition, it is very easy to clean...but...because of the layout, I find there is much less mess to clean at all. Easy access = much less spillage. It is also much easier to stock when returning from the grocery store. Seems to have more room but I think it is just the layout.
I was uncertain about the freezer at the bottom but it is just fine. Part of the reason the entire fridge and freezer are so nice is that the lighting is excellent.
I also love the meat tray that runs the entire width of the fridge.
The only disadvantage I've found so far is that the ice maker is a bit overzealous sometimes making so many ice cubes that one or two spill over when the freezer is opened. I cannot, however, complain about this since it is a big improvement over the last two icemakers that only worked when they felt like it. It's nice to have all the cubes I need on demand.
This fridge beeps when the door is open for several minutes. I appreciate that when the door has not been closed properly. I don't appreciate it when I'm loading it after a trip to the store. Overall, I would rather have it beep than not. A nice feature!
This is a great product. Such a treat to use! I would recommend it to anyone.
