I recently bought a blender because my girlfriend has been politely asking (or as we men say, nagging) to get one. She's the cook of the family, and unless I wanted macaroni & cheese for the rest of my life, I had to get one -- and soon.
So we spent a little while at our local kitchen stores checking out a variety of blenders. After looking at all the options, prices and kinds, we ended up with Krups blender. I have to admit, another big factor was that our friends recommended the Krups blender since they've had one for awhile and it's done very well (held up to all kinds of mixing and blending).
And I'm glad we got the Krups blender -- it's was an excellent blender for the price. It has a lot of blending speeds, a nice big glass pitcher, and holds up well to a ton of food (including slicing through ice, fruits, etc.)
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Krups Blender -- it's held up to a variety of foods and liquids, and has done amazingly well. And you can't beat the price for the quality.
