bmcnichol's Full Review: Kotex Security Tampons Super Plus Unscented (18 co...
Well it’s that time of the month again. The bills need to be paid, appointments need to be made and you get your period. (OK guys if you are reading this the period part doesn’t apply to you).
I am in my forty’s and think I have tried every tampon on the market. I was pretty set on the brand of tampons I was using until about six months ago. I was out of my “usual” brand and I had a coupon for Kotex Security tampons. My hubby had just been laid off , so money was a bit tight. Tampons were something I needed but I didn’t have to be brand loyal right now, as long as I had something that did the job. The Kotex Security tampons were on sale for $2.00 a box and I had a coupon for $0.75 off which my store doubles. So I was going to pay $0.50 for a box. I figured for $0.50, even if I didn’t like them- I wasn’t wasting that much money.
So here I am in the middle of the grocery store deciding on what absorbency of tampon to buy. It was the start of my period so I decided to purchase the Kotex Security Tampons Super Plus Unscented 18 count box.
The Super Plus tampons are recommended for very heavy flow days. Kotex also supplies their tampons in junior absorbency, regular, super, super plus and ultra. The Super Plus will hold 12 to 15 grams absorbed.
Honestly I am not sure why I had never tried Kotex Security tampons before. Kotex is a name I know and trusted but I had never tried their tampons.
The Kotex Security tampons come in a white box with a big red flower on them. The box also contains Box Tops for Education. Each tampon is individually wrapped in a white plastic package with purple flowers and swirls on it.
The Kotex Security tampons are made up of absorbent materials comprised of cotton & rayon, polypropylene cover, rayon, polyester, or cotton string .
The applicator plastic and is light purple. They have a soft contour which makes it easier to insert and easy to hold. The applicators are not flushable. Make sure to wash your hands before using and after using tampons. Also change tampons every four to eight hours.
I find the Kotex Security Tampons to be the easiest and most comfortable tampons to use. They have the comfort-flex bend which fits your body as you move to help prevent leaks and makes you feel more comfortable.
They are also unscented and come in a plastic applicator for comfortable insertion. They have a nice long string so you don’t have to “search” for it when trying to remove.
My experience with the Kotex Security Tampons has been a great one. All women are different as are their flows, so even though this product works well for me, it may not be the best choice for you.
Personally, the Kotex Security Tampons is the only choice for me now. Kotex Tampons can be found at most grocery stores, pharmacies and discount stores. You may even get lucky and find them in some gas stations. Kotex always has coupons in the Sunday papers, so I normally wait until they go on sale for $2.00 a box and then stock up.
For heavy flow days, I highly recommend Kotex Security Tampons Super Plus Unscented 18 count box. I do use the other absorbency’s and also highly recommend any of the Kotex Security Tampons for “that time of the month”.
