I do love the look of the frame, and the picture quality is excellent. It's pretty easy to use, especially if you're already acquainted with the ins and outs of generic USB storage devices (thumb drives, digital cameras, etc). These are the most important features... which may be a saving grace for this product, as I've nothing else positive to say.
The worst flaw: your photos and videos will be displayed in the order in which they're loaded into the frame or memory card, and there's absolutely no way around it. Even renaming the files does nothing to alter the order in which they're displayed. I'd hoped the recent (July '07) firmware update would correct this glaring omission, but no luck. (Frankly, I'd have thought random picture display would be the _default_ setting for any digital photo frame.)
The 800x480 resolution is another minus-- most cameras take photos in a 4:3 aspect ratio, which means that this 16:9-ish frame will either automatically crop or leave empty spaces at the edges of your photos, unless you manually (tediously) crop them to 800x480 proportions before transfer.
(Speaking of which, be sure to do a firmware update as soon as you get this product-- the "fit to frame" setting on my
frame didn't work properly until I upgraded its firmware. It left black borders on the sides of all the photos I didn't manually crop.)
On the nitpick side: the transitions available didn't include any kind of dissolve. Wipes and blinds are serviceable, but I prefer a subtle fade.
