daydrmgirl's Full Review: Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 - Jar
I'm in love with this lip balm! I read good things about it in several magazines and how some celebrities use them and all, but I have always been kind of skeptical about it. I was in Boston last summer where there is a Kiehl's on Newbury street. I dragged my mom to the store to check it out. I didn't get it on my first visit since I thought $5.50 for lip balm is rather pricey, but I gave in on my second visit and bought a jar (they ran out of the tubed).
At first sight
The lip balm has a yellow ointment tint when it's in the jar. It is virtually scentless, but my mom claims that it has a scent and she can't stand it. The jar's diameter is about 1.5 inches and the height is about 1 inch (holds 0.6 oz/17g of lip balm). It is a little bulky for a lip balm but the good thing about it is that it's hard to loose.
On my lips
I apply my lip balm with my finger. Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 is colorless, but it adds moisture and a bit of shine onto your lips. It is NOT GREASY at all, to my surprise. At first I felt it may be a little bit thick but I liked it after a while because it adds just enough moisture, but not grease! The lip color improves with the moisture restored and the lip balm gives the lips a natural shine and color (someone thought I had lip gloss on).
The magic potion
As appears on the jar:

About Kiehl's
When I bought my lip balm, they gave me several samples to try based on my needs. All the ones I tried were really nice and mild. Kiehl's is based in New York and is part of Loreal USA. You can order their product from their website or pay a visit to their stores. They have free sampling program (a very generous one too) so that with each purchase you get to try something new!
