| becka189's Full Review: Kids Ii Soft & Safe Inflatable Baby Bath Tub |
About two months ago I went in search for something to bathe my five month old daughter in. I read reviews for similar tubs, here on Epinions, and decided to find an inflatable tub. I found The Soft & Safe Baby Bath Tub at the first store I went to, and bought it.
About The Kids 2 Soft & Safe Baby Bath Tub
Measurements: 27” x 17”
Recommended age: 6 months (or until sitting without help) to 24 months.
What it looks like: I have only seen them with one design, so I assume that’s all there is. It has little blue water bubbles all over, with multi colored turtles and fish on a white background.
It is inflatable, as I stated above. There is an air valve on the bottom to inflate, the part where the child sits, of course. Then another valve inflates the body of the tub.
Drain plug.
Suction cup hanger.
Comes with one patch, in case you spring a leak.
What We Like About It
Easy to inflate. You do have to provide the hot air to blow the tub up. I guess I have plenty, because I found it easy. It only takes me a couple of minutes.
Fits well in the “big” tub. I have a horid bath/shower, with sliding doors, but I find it pretty easy to lean in and bathe her.
Easy to drain. It has a clear plastic plug that fits into a small drain hole, about ¾ the size of a regular bathtub drain. I find it very easy to remove and re-plug.
Easy storage. It comes with a suction cup firmly attached to the bottom of one end. I have an extremely small bathroom, so it’s nice to be able to hang it in the shower after her bath. Make sure that you attach it to a clean, smooth and dry surface, otherwise it will not stick well.
Easy to clean. Just wipe it clean with soap and water.
Great for traveling. I just took The Soft & Safe Baby Bath Tub with me on a trip, and it was great! It folds up very small when deflated, and takes up very little room in the suitcase. I also feel better knowing that she is in her own tub and not one that any number of people have been in.
Soft and safe. I like the fact that she is surrounded by something soft. Although, don’t think that this means your child is “safe” in the tub. More about this below.
Well made. We have only used The Soft & Safe Baby Bath Tub for a couple of months, but it seems to be pretty sturdy. That is, when used for it’s intended purpose.
She likes it!. My daughter was not crazy about the traditional “baby” bath tubs. After a couple of months of unhappiness, she started bathing with me. She was very happy about this! Not that I want to share my bathing habits with the world, but it may help you make your decision:) The transition into this tub was good. I think she feels pretty secure, especially with me holding onto her. She seems to like it more every time. The first couple of times she gave me a confused look, but she never got upset.
What We Don’t Like About It
Slippery bottom. The bottom “seat” of the tub is very slippery. I ALWAYS hold onto my daughter the whole time she is getting her bath, but her bottom still slides forward occasionally. I feel that it will be much safer once she is taller, and her feet are closer to the end of the tub. Don’t forget to read all of the Safety Tips on the back of the box. Never leave your child unattended!
Conclusion
This is a great way to bathe your baby. I recommend The Soft & Safe Baby Bath Tub, especially to take on trips. You won’t regret spending the small amount of money that it costs!
