| marytara's Full Review: Kids II My Little Step Stool |
My three year old son is very independent with quite the mind of his own. Not that that's particularly unique or anything, it's a 3-year old thing. He insists on doing everything himself and his own way. Sometimes that's good, and other times.. well, let's just say that I beg to differ.
Many moons ago when we embarked on the potty training process we went on a trip to purchase a ring for the potty and a step stool. I let him select both items for himself in order to add to the excitement and hope they would get put to good use. The Kids II My Little Step Stool is the one he selected from the surprisingly large selection of step stools in quite a wide price range. I believe we payed around five or six dollars for this step stool, so it was quite affordable.
About My Little Step Stool
Well, its not really mine. It's my kids but thats the name of the product after all. Our step stool is mostly blue with purple, bright green and yellow accents. Its available in a mostly purple version also in the same color scheme. They are both pretty gender neutral but maybe the purple one is a little more "girly" (whatever!). The platform is 11"X7" and its about 7" high. The entire stepstool is made of a sturdy plastic and it has both a non skid top and non skid feet.
Our experience
The Kids II My Little Step Stool is just the perfect size. It doesn't take up much space (and it can even be stacked if you have more than one of them) but it gets the job done. The stool is just the right height for my son to use to climb up for the potty, push up to the sink or even to the edge of the tub to help him climb in.
In addition, this thing is really sturdy. I've stood on it and its held my weight (which is more than I care to divulge) with no problem.
Since we use ours in the bathroom full time, the non-skid surface and feet are put to the test and haven't failed us yet.
Because its plastic, its really easy to clean. And, since we use ours in the bathroom with a potty training preschooler we have to clean it often (but, thats not a big deal).
Most of all, I like that this stool helps give my son a sense of accomplishment. He can easily move it around to where he needs it and its all his. Since he loves using it, that means he uses it frequently. We've more than gotten our money's worth out of this product and highly recommend it.
Happy Potty Training, etc etc
