| Magick1's Full Review: Kashi Tlc All Natural Chewy Granola Bars Cherry Da... |
Kashi makes a terrific product. I dont know that I have had anything (yet) from them that tastes like cardboard or stinks so badly that I will never touch it again! These bars are no exception. The cherry dark chocolate TLC (Tasty Little Chewies) is the type of granola-like bar that I enjoy most. They are not dry and crumbly. They are soft and chewy.
If you enjoy eating healthier and are always looking for something new to try, give these a shot!
The Product
The bar itself is a standard granola bar size. It measures 3 ½ inches long, by 1 inch wide by about ¾ inches thick. When you look at the bar, it looks like many other bars in that you can see whole grains and oats. The top is covered with these mini-sized dark chocolate chips. Mixed in the granola and whole grains, you can see piece of cherry mixed in the bar. These are not small pieces of cherry either. It appears to be whole cherries, not just a small corner of a single cherry.
The combination of the dark chocolate, the semi-sweet, semi-tart flavor of the cherry and the sweetness of the oats and grains in the bar are a wonderful combination. Its not a boring snack bar, it thrills your taste buds and make them salivate for MORE, MORE, MORE!
The Ingredients
Kashi Seven Whole Grains & Sesame blend, (whole: hard red winter wheat, oats, rye, barley, triticale, long grain brown rice, buckwheat, sesame seeds), brown rice syrup, cherries (red tart cherries, apple juice concentrate), dark chocolate (evaporated cane juice, chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, vanilla), evaporated cane juice crystals, soy protein isolate, soy grits, chicory root fiber, corn flour, honey, expeller pressed canola oil, rice starch, vegetable glycerin, oat fiber, evaporated salt, molasses, soy lecithin, natural flavors, whey, annatto color
Contains: cherries and may contain cherry pits, contains wheat, soy and milk ingredients
This bar is my mid morning snack. I usually have breakfast about 5:30 in the morning and come about 10:00, I am starving for some reason. So, I keep these handy in my desk drawer and I love to have one, as they are always delicious! I love chocolate and the cherries are wonderful too. They are not too tart, but they give a wonderful contrast to the dark chocolate and the sweetness of the bar itself!

Overall Impressions
I truly enjoy these bars. They are soft and chewy and make a very delicious snack. They will not be a good substitute for a meal like some of the other bars on the market that have higher calories and are bigger bars. Therefore, I would not think this would be a good breakfast or lunch meal.
The bars always taste fresh and are always wonderful to eat. I have never gone beyond the freshest by date on the box, so I cannot say if they get stale after that date or if they get hard to eat. Also, the ingredients mentioned there could be cherry pits in the bars. I have eaten many of these and can say that I have never come across a pit in any of them. That doesnt mean it couldnt happen though!
If you like trying good granola-type bars, Kashi makes an excellent product and should be one that you check out! They have a lot of flavors available, including the harder, drier type granola bars that people enjoy. You can check out their website for all that they offer, because there is a lot: crackers, bars, cereal, granola, and even oatmeal and meal replacement type bars. Check them out at www.kashi.com.
