| psufan0066's Full Review: Infinity Reference 652i Car Component System |
Infinity 652i
I have been looking for about a month for speakers to replace my blown out factory speakers. (They stood no chance against my new CD player and my music) I have a Pioneer DEH-P4400 head unit. I was told by some of my friends who know more than I do about car speakers that Infinity was one of the top car speaker makers. So I listened and I am glad I did.
I really would have to say my head unit does not produce enough power to get the bass response I know these speakers are capable of but the sound they produce is very crisp and clear. I know I do not have to worry about blowing these speakers.
Like I said I think these speakers could handle much more bass but I am still very satisfied with its performance. For example Disturbs songs "Down with the Sickness" was a very harsh song to my old speakers but the Infinity's handle the sounds with no problem.
There is no distortion in these speakers so far. I listen to a lot of hard rock and I also tested it with Eminem's "Without me" and everything sounded great. This speaker will not sound as bassy (is that a word?) a sub woofer. I was under that impression well before I did homework on these speakers. But these speakers will dramatically improve sound quality and produce great music.
One warning, this basically applies to any novice like myself thinking about buying any type speaker. If you have never seen someone install a speaker or don't know who knows how to install them, leave it to a professional. My problem with installing these speakers was, I needed to drill 4 new holes for each speaker for them to fit into my rear deck. Now the process is not hard but you need more than one person to perform the installation accurately.
Final Word: Spend the extra $10-20 for these speakers they are well worth it. Great sound quality. And remember I am only powering these speakers with my head unit, a small amp could do wonders for these speakers.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
