A multitool is a must have item for your car, truck, boat, or just to sit in the top of your tool box. You know that one time you need a screwdriver but you can never find one, or the one time you need a pair of pliers and you can never find one, well a multitool can save you.
I received my Schrade Tool as a gift, which is a great gift for any guy. In the box came the multitool, a nice leather case, and a diagram/instructions. Upon picking the tool up, you can tell it is a solid product. It is not made out of that cheap shiny steel like the ones at the checkout counter at hardware stores. This thing is made of the good stuff that lasts forever. All of the blades are razor sharp out of the box and they stay sharp. It has been a couple of years and I still have not had to sharpen any of them.
Features of this tool are: pliers, cutters, knife, razor blade, file, 2 flat head screw drivers, Phillips head screw driver, saw, a bottle opener, and a box cutter. (Those are at least the main features.) Also, the tool has a pretty good safety lock system that prevents cuts when closing the blade. However, I have found that if you squeeze the handle to tight while you are using it and push in the wrong direction, the blade will unlock, which is not good, but you have to push on it harder then you really should be pushing on the blade.
I have had knives that have been around for decades and I have had knives that literally broke in the matter of minutes, this one is a quality product and has required almost zero maintenance. I will look to Schrade for any further products like this. It is also made in the USA.
