The Bottom Line: Try it, maybe you'll have better luck than I did, but the quality issue is a real one, and just be sure you can return it if you have problems
walterk55's Full Review: Imation RipGO Personal CD Player
I read an article in a magazine that talked about all the virtues of the RipGO; portability, ability to burn mini-CD's, good sound. In theory all this is true.
In practice, it's another matter! RipGo has major fabrication quality problems: the batter didn't quite fit, and the Lithium ion battery went dead and was un-rechargeable after only one week (happily the store has a 14 day return policy!)
Also, it had major recognition problems with my PC (Win2000) which sometimes refused to see it at all. Recognition was better on my iBook, but there was no bundled Nero burning software for Mac OSX; when I got it from Imation, I had to do a firmware upgrade that was only possible on a PC, and then the downloaded software didn't run; no firmware update, no Mac burning capability.
So in the end it was just all too much trouble; I took it back and will look for another solution.
