Head Titanium Ti.Radical Racquet 690
First here are some of the specifications and features of this particular racquet.
-Ultra-strong titanium is woven with ultra-light graphite to create the ultimate composite. The benefit of this is a lighter, stronger stiffer material for ultimate power and maneuverability.
- A stiff inner shell for power is surrounded by a soft thermoplastic outer shell for improved string and frame dampening. You can play aggressively with more touch and feel due to less vibration.
- The grip has a soft rubber composite with traction construction and rounded edges. Provides tack, cushioning, less torque and quicker perspiration absorption.
My husband’s overall impression is --
This racquet has been on the market for two years now. Prior to that time the Radical Tour 690 came in a yellow, black, and white frame. It had the twin tube technology but was a bit hefty at approximately twelve ounces.
Last year I received from Head the new Ti.Radical 690 that was part of the new Titanium tennis line. (Besides his wife he fell in love with it immediately.) It still has a good deal of heft at 10.4 ounces, but it is much easier to maneuver, especially off the backhand side. It has a very solid feel, as in the older version of the racquet.
Just recently I had the option of selecting racquets for this year and once again I chose the Ti.Radical 690. I guess if it’s good enough for Andre Agassi, then it’s good enough for me!
I find that you get plenty of power from the backcourt and plenty of power and maneuverability up near the net. It’s got a lot of pop on the serve, and even though it has a very dense string bed with 18 main strings, you still can generate a lot of spin.
This racquet from Head falls into the classification of Tour series. It’s listed as the L5. Essentially this means that you must have a full fast swing to generate power. But if your style is to take a full swing, then this may very well be the racquet for you. It has a very solid feel, and is excellent from all parts of the court. I recommend it highly.
