While on a recent business trip we found ourselves at Harry Carray's Bar. The atmosphere was so comfortable and the help so friendly we vowed to return for a meal in the restaurant later in the week.
We walked in on a Thursday night with no reservations and were seated almost immediately. We ordered the salad to start things out, the mixed greens were wonderful and a single salad could have easily served all 3 of us. This definitely is a meat eater's heaven. My associates had steak and baked potatoes the size of Idaho itself. They raved over their steaks and commented on it's melt in the mouth tenderness multiple times. I ordered the eggplant parmesan, which I feel included an entire eggplant, and at least a 1/2 pound of cheese. It was good, and since Italian food is not their speciality I felt they did an adequate representation of this dish. The wine list was exceptional, though we did not partake. We had simpler tastes and drank Harry's favorite Budwiser instead.
All food is ala carte so it may get a bit pricey if on a budget, but is definitely worth the money. If you are from out of town, like we were, and are a Chicago Cub fan this is a must visit place for you. I would have loved to have just looked at all the memorabilia displayed.
