Staceys1's Full Review: Hallmark Channel Houston Astros Lunch Napkins, 24c...
We live in New York City, but my twelve-year old son is a Houston Astros fan, and has been for a number of years. He has always been a sports-minded kid and so for his birthday celebrations we try to have themes that reflect these interests. While Yankees and Mets items are available in local stores, I need to plan ahead to order party supplies that have the Astros logo on them. Of course, sometimes ordering items that you have only seen on a computer screen leaves you with products that do not always meet your needs, but I was very happy with my purchase of the Houston Astros Lunch Napkins.
There are twenty-four, two-ply napkins in each package, with each one measuring about 6.5" square. The napkins are the brick-red color that is the Astros' trademark with a black border along two sides. The front has their star logo and the back has the word "Astros" written in black, along with the red, white and blue Major League Baseball logo, Hallmark and other copyright and trademark information.
The inside portions are plain brick-red, but when the napkin is opend up completely, the black border can be seen around the entire perimeter. I have had party napkins in the past that do not have any color or desin on the normally unseensides, but since these are fully printed, I used some underneath chips and snacks in baskets for our guests.
These napkins are fairly strong, and even with younger children eating pizza and other messy foods, they absorbed the messes and did not rip easily. Even with all of the grease that these napkins absorbed from the chips in the baskets, they stayed intact and held up for our entire party.
My son's friends were very impressed when they came to the house and saw Houston Astros balloons, plates and napkins set out, since they do tend to tease him about liking a team so far away from home. Even though this was our second year with the identical theme, my son loved it, and most likely will be requesting the same party goods next year as well.
When hosting parties, I always like to have paper goods that coordinate with the deocorations and theme of the event. Plain white plates and napkins will get the job done, but more colorful ones add to the excitement of the day.
Party napkins are always more expensive than everyday napkins, and one package of twenty-four of these Houston Astros Lunch Napkins cost about $3.00. However, for a once in a while purchase to help bring the look of a party together, I would recommend them.
