Pros: This pacifier WORKS!
Cons: fluff gets stuck around the nipple
The Bottom Line: This is the only brand of pacifier that my baby will use. Best shape and size for him. A happy baby makes for a happy mom!

| marytara's Full Review: Gerber Nuk Classic Pacifier |
In My opinion, the classic NUK is the best pacifier out there. Hands Down.Gerber Nuk seemed to be the most common one given to me at his shower. Go Figure!
We use this pacifier in between feedings when he has the desire to suck. Its great. We tried other brands and he just doesn't seem to like them.
The pacifier is an orthodontic pacifier with a NUK® Orthodontic nipples that is made of soft latex. I choose an orthodontic nipple because I am concerned that using a pacifier could affect my child teeth later in life. The orthodontic pacifier is a healthy design for his teeth, mouth and gums.
The nipple is orthodontic meaning it won't mess up their teeth and gums. WHat that also means is that it has a definite top and bottom. People who are unfamiliar with this pacifier might try to put it in upside down. My baby won't suck on it if its upside down, which is a good thing.
The pacifier is "heart shaped" with air holes (vents). When people try to put it in upside down, I just tell them to put it in "like a heart".
Classic Nuk comes in a variety of sizes: Size 1 for babies from birth to 6 months, size 2 for 6 to 18 months, size 3 is for 18 months and older. This is great because you can use a pacifier that is the proper size for your child.
These also come in a variety of colors, as well as a rubber nipple or a silicone nipple.
I will admit that I had mixed feelings about using a pacifier -- especially since I am breastfeeding. But I should have known our child would have a strong sucking urge because every ultrasound we went to he had his hands or feet in his mouth.
After nursing him almost non-stop for a few weeks I decided to try a pacifier. He's none worse for the wear and he still loves to breastfeed as much as he did before we gave him the Nuk.
Kudos to Gerber for designing something that is good orthodontically but also an appealing shape
