I bought this machine at their on-line website without knowing the ins and outs of this machine. Even when it arrived my wife wanted to put it together for herself, because she loves tinkering around putting things together.
The machine is shipped with the turbine motor all assembled. She put on the pedals,All the handles and the bar for the monitor. It took her 25 minutes to complete this process.
Once completed she plugged in the monitor, (do not plug this in until all phases of set up are completed). This monitor boasts a variety of programs of levels from very easy for the beginner to extremely hard for the advance work out enthusiast.
The monitor also lets you see the time remaining left on your program. It lets you put in your age,you can watch the speed at which you are going. It also shows you the distance you have gone, calories burned and a estimate of what your heart rate should be doing. You'll need to buy a personal heart rate monitor that they provide at a additional cost. Jennifer bought one at Sears to see if she is keeping up with the machine. This monitor has buttons on it to increase or decrease the range of resistance of your present workout.If you think you are over doing your workout or if you need to stop abruptly it also carries an on/off switch.
I have used this machine a dozen times. I am still on the low to moderate programs, I guess not using it every other day and being a smoker and other health issues that I have, I'll never be able to max out on this machine. I am able to stay on this machine for 15 minutes while Jennifer does 30 minutes on higher programs with a graceful ease. You'll feel it most once you get off. Getting a heated sweaty workout is not a problem here.
The handles work along with the turbine and pedal motion to make it look and feel if you are cross country skiing.You'll feel this in your are mainly in the triceps after only a few minutes. You'll feel the burn after you are finished. This machine also has handle grips on each side of the monitor to give you the range of motion for jogging or when the program kicks in on the harder incline part.
There are no lanky wires to get in your way as you work out. The adapter plug, plugs in at the rear of this machine by the back feet stands that support the turbine. The pedals for which to stand on are nice and wide as well as long so if you slip a little you do not have to worry about falling off. I have worked out just in socks with no problem at all because the pedals are made of a slotted rubber base for traction.The company also sends you a water bottle and clip to put on the machine for your workouts.
Overall the assembly is quite easy. They provide all the tools and information such as instructions on how to put together. The instructions are very easy to read and do.This machine is also portable to easily move from room to room. Will take a second person if you decide to take up or down stairs. I made a workout room for Jennifer on the second floor. It's light enough for me to carry just bulky for me to make the stairs with.
The warranty is for 12 months for defects in craftmanship and materials, so please fill out register as soon as you get it home. They provide excellent payment rates over the Internet, we are paying $ 50.00 a month for ours instead of shelling out $ 654.00 at once.This includes $ 599.99 for the machine,shipping and handling.
