I know buying expensive bath salts isn't necessary. I have come across more than one recipe for making homemade salts. Even though this is probably more economical, I just don't get the same feeling of luxury using homemade bath salts. I choose to indulge a little and pamper myself with Essentiel Elements Bath Salts.
Packaging
The first touch of luxury is in the packaging. Essentiel Elements Bath Salts come in a frosted glass square jar. The jar is plain except for a simple company logo that looks more like a design. The lid is silver. The package is very appealing. The jar is nice enough that I leave it on the shelf in my bathroom instead of storing it out of view.
The Scents
Essentiel Elements makes these bath salts in 4 fabulous scents.
Citrus Dream (soothing)
Wake Up Rosemary (stimulating)
Joie de Lavender (relaxing)
Fleur d'Amour (uplifting)
I purchased Citrus Dream and love it! It's a very fresh, natural scent. It's not too sweet or fake smelling. All of the scents sound wonderful, but it's up to you to decide if you want a more relaxing or uplifting scent.
The Benefits
The bath salts are packed with lots of great ingredients to make you and your skin feel good. They include essential oils for the aromatherapy. Sunflower oil and vitamin E are included as a moisturizer. Sea salt is used to detoxify skin, soothe tired muscles, and keep your skin soft. If you plan on using these salts for healing purposes, they are safe to use in spas, hot tubs, or hydrotherapy tubs.
My Experience
The directions say to add 3 tablespoons to your bath water. I don't usually add that much. I have found that 2 tablespoons is plenty.
Once the bath salts are in the water, they dissolve quickly and the pleasant scent fills the bathroom. By the time I get into the tub, the salts are completely dissolved and the bathroom smells heavenly. It is not overwhelming. The scent is light and welcoming. It's a very pleasant experience. I enjoy soaking in the tub by candle light or reading a good book.
The bathroom smells good during my entire bath and when I get out my skin has a faint scent. I wish the scent was a little stronger on my skin because I enjoy it so much. On a positive note, you don't have to worry about the scent clashing with lotion or perfume.
This bath salt leaves my skin soft and moist. I never feel dried out or like I soaked in cheap bubble bath. My skin always feel soft and rejuvenated. I come out of that bathroom feeling like a new woman!
Price
You have several options when it comes to purchasing.
30.5 oz. jar- $26
4 oz. jar- $8
Sampler set (3 oz. of each of the 4 scents)- $19.99
3 oz. envelope- $5
I have the 4 oz. jar which I purchased from drugstore.com several months ago when they were on sale for $5. It's just the right size for me. I only use it a couple times each month and it will get me through the cold months this year. This is my favorite bath option so I try to save it for special occasions or nights I really need it. I may have to splurge and buy the large jar because I really like these bath salts.
Overall Recommendation
I think Essentiel Elements has wonderful bath salts. They smell great and make you feel wonderful. If you are into aromatherapy, you will not be disappointed. I think these bath salts will make a wonderful gift. The 4 oz. jar or envelopes would be the perfect stocking stuffer for Christmas. It's a small price to pay for this fantastic piece of pure luxury.
