Pros: The micro filter does work very well, extra long cord.
Cons: For 12lbs seems heavier. Vacuum bags small. Extremely Noisy. Unreliable.
The Bottom Line: Between the noise, the fact that it dies, the small bags for dirt, and it is featherheavy makes it a poor choice!

Background
This was a gift to me on mothers day. My husband purchased this for me as a secondary vacuum for picking up quick spills, and also to make it easier to clean the stairs in our house. The premise was that 12 lbs should make the task much easier.
Unit Assembly
Unit assembly was fairly quick with the only tools required being a screwdriver. Total time to assemble was about 10 minutes. However, the gray latch that kept the canister together kept on falling off (should have sent an immediate warning of imminent danger!).
Attachments/Goodies
You only got one vacuum cleaner bag with the unit, that did not last even two rooms of vacuuming. The tools that came with were standard crevice and upholstery tools that did their job fairly well.
Handling/Performance
As soon as you switched this puppy on – boy did you need earmuffs!!! The units motor drew so many amps that all of my light fixtures dimmed. While vacuuming with the standard carpet attachment, the hose kept on coming undone. Worse, I kept tripping over the long vacuum cord. When I used the hose tool for crevices, etc., the hose tool kept on coming detached from the base of the unit. Also, the hose was small so it was hard to use the tools without completely bending to the ground. Worse, the hose tools had such a SMALL opening, it would not even pick up spilled flakes of cereal on the floor. I guess the purpose for this was only for dust and no other items. Since there was no power tool to this unit, pushing it across the carpet was a major task.
Summary
This unit was very difficult to use, seemed to be heavier than 12 lbs, and not very well constructed. The noise and power consumption alone would make a Californian cringe. Heck, it would make anyone cringe. For the $70 I paid, there are a lot of other choices you can make.
