Thanks Vincent, this was a really easy review to write. I was impressed with the Dell 1901, but the new 1905 was a welcome improvement. If you need to replace a few monitors on your network I would definitely recommend this monitor.

Jon,
I wish, as it is we bought some unknown brand called Hansol about a year ago when we replaced all of our desktops and so far six have bit the dust. The decision was not mine to make or I would have gone with a name brand, like Dell or probably ViewSonic.

I wonder (Reply to this comment)
by criteeker
Since it's common knowledge that Dell buys its monitors from other makers...I wonder who REALLY makes this montior. 800:1 ratio??? That's great!

I wondered that same thing and I couldn't find it anywhere on the monitor. Yes, 800:1 contrast ratio and it a really good monitor.

actually Samsung makes the LCD panel, but Dell does put everything together. Hence the quality is supposed to be top notch on this LCD. The only problem I can see with it is the low response: 20ms - which is more subjective. Gamers complain about ghosting on LCDs with lower response times.

I was wondering who actually made it, since Dell doesn't make most of the peripherals they have their name on (printers are made by Lexmark). Many of the LCD panels are not suited for gamers due to the ghosting.
