I never used an electric can opener until I got this one as a wedding gift. Now I am not sure I can go back to using a manual one!
This can opener is extra tall and can handle all cans I have put before it.It works fast and does a great job. It is equipped with a magnet where you put the can so it will hold onto the can during and after opening and when you grab the can to take it off, the lid remains behind. I really like this feature because when I am done opening the can I don't have to fish around the edges to try to get a hold of the lid. This can opener also makes very smooth edges that are not as rough and dangerous as manual openers. I have had no problems with sharp edges, and I would feel comfortable letting children use this product.
This opener is also equipped with a knife sharpener in the back which is very handy and works well. It also has a place in the bottom where you can stuff the extra cord to hide it.
The only down side I can think of with this item is that it takes up more room than a manual. No, it will not fit in your top drawer. But, relatively it takes up little space and is easy to store.
