Thanks for the tip-off. I'll stick with the washable markers, which really do wash off, come in many bright and vibrant colors, and don't smell funny. Also are non-toxic, which is important because my 17-month-old chews things. Had to take these away from him, though, after he bit the tip off one pen.

Kudos to you for surviving the trip with 2 toddlers. Been there, done that!

My son actually drew on the kitchen table with these and if it dries its so hard to get off. Not totally foolproof. Stick with washables.

You may want to buy your refills at Wal-Mart where they are $2.97. True about the smell!

They did ok on the car trip, but the regular crayons were a much bigger hit. Oh well... worth a shot, right? :-)
