| karebearkl's Full Review: Cosco Options 5 Adjustable High Chair |
I have to admit.. I only bought this high chair becuase it was on sale, I had a coupon from the store I bought it at AND a manufacturer coupon, and then there was a rebate on top of that... I paid $10 before the $5 rebate... otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought this high chair...
All in all, it has been a good chair. It was very easy to put together, although the infant reclining position was awkward to do the first few times.
The padding is just right.. not too thick, not too thin. There aren't many creases for food to get stuck in. It's a nice big roomy seat. Perhaps a little too big for my peanut baby. She always got lost in it - sliding from one side to the other.
The tray is HUGE. It's GREAT. My only complaint with the tray.. there's a groove around the outside - and food likes to get stuck in there, and it takes FOREVER to clean it out.
My high chair was included in the recall. I called for my repair kit and I did recieve it very quickly. I was not happy with it - the repair kit was a new handle for the back of the seat (Old handle = white, and could lock either up or down for whichever position you needed. New handle = red and always stays up). They did not include any screws in the new repair kit. When my highchair was recalled, my chair was over a year old.. those screws were in the old handle FOR GOOD. They were NOT BUDGING. I called and asked if new screws could be sent, and they said no way! I was SHOCKED! My husband ended up having to go to home depot and finding something that worked. We got it taken care of, but I think that's a lousy way to send a "repair kit". I've had other baby items recalled, and I have always gotten ALL PARTS that needed to be recalled.
We never ended up using the chair as a booster seat. It didn't work with our dining room chairs. I never stop to think if the booster would work with our chairs before we had bought it. I just blindly said "wow it goes into a booster too! COOL!". Please take this into consideration.
