First off, let me ask you to return the bags to the YMCA that you might have accidentally taken. They assure me that they won’t press charges; they simply want their CCM puck bags back. Come on, it’s a non-profit organization and you stole from them! What’s wrong with you.
I feel better now. I hope no one who didn’t steal puck bags from the Y took that personally.
On to the review
The CCM puck bag is a nice little bag for carrying . . . you guessed it – pucks! A round bag with a single zipper top and a shoulder strap this little beauty will easily hold twenty or more pucks, plenty for coaches and team captains to bring to practice.
The bag is constructed of high quality 420 denier nylon with a self-repairing zipper. Yeah, I know self-repairing zippers, sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. However, the three bags that they had for pucks at the YMCA put up quite a fight and lasted a good long while.
Essentially this is a round bag with a single pocket. It is puck shaped (although much bigger than a puck . . . how handy would it be if it only held one?) The bag is emblazoned with the CCM logo, silk screened on its lid and sides. Even this print is in pretty good shape after a couple years of abuse.
Stress Testing
These bags get hauled out to the ice a couple times a day on average. Then the full bag is heaved onto the ice surface until someone dumps the pucks and returns it empty to the home bench. There players jump up and down on it with sharp skates while yelling for lazy skaters to get off the ice.
Of the three bags, two of them lasted completely intact for no less than two years. The third one . . . well, like I said, sometimes self-repairing zippers don’t. Fortunately, the one with the broken zipper was among the pair that someone “mistakenly” left the YMCA with.
Recommendations
If you need a good puck bag, the CCM is an excellent choice. This one will hold more than enough pucks for practice and will last a good long time in conditions worse than its owner would likely ever subject it to.
