Pros: An all-suite hotel, complimentary breakfast, huge rooms, and appliances. Wow.
Cons: 10 miles from downtown Milwaukee. Nothing within walking distance.
The Bottom Line: What you would spend on a family breakfast along with a cocktail hour, makes the Brookfield Suites Hotel a bargain. However, it is a first class facility, too!

Cabin fever was beginning to get to the Duckling household, after a long winter, lots of traveling for sports, and no real family time, we decided to get out of the house, find a hotel with a pool, relax and unwind. Of course, we had a budget to stay within, too! Our first choice was a Lake Geneva hotel, with a water park, but they were close to capacity, and was pricey. We did an Internet search and found Brookfield Suites Hotel with a special spring rate of $99. We booked, stayed, and were amazed!
Booking was easy, using the hotel's on-line service. We used the pass code: GUEST, and received the $99 rate instead of the rack rate of $159. We also requested two nights, a Friday and Saturday night and two double beds. Reservation on-line was easy, five stars!
Check-in was fast and simple. There is plenty of surface parking around the hotel, easy access to the lobby and the room. The property is in suburban Milwaukee, in Eastern Waukesha County, the City of Brookfield. It was formerly an Embassy Suites and has been independent for two years. The front desk personnel was major league and they did not even allow us to ask a question. The mentioned everything we wanted to know, even up to the pool hours! Check-in was five stars.
There was no bellman service but the hotel had plenty of carts for our use. We were able to park up close, unload on the cart, and take the elevator up to our fourth floor room. It was easy. Our room was excellent. It was a large two room suite with two double beds, Queen-size sofa sleeper, two TV's, and a kitchenette featuring a wet bar, microwave, coffeemaker, and refrigerator. Are you kidding me? The refrigerator was perfect for our snacks and beverages, nothing like microwave popcorn while watching a movie in the room, and STARBUCKS coffee in the room to wake me up in the morning. A complimentary USA Today was also delivered. With two growing boys and a limited budget, the in-room amenities were excellent. The TV's are being upgraded to thin screens on a regular basis. Our room was clean, roomy, excellent. Bed and Bath toiletries were in the room, bathrooms were large. Five stars for the room.
Our rate included a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast both mornings. Perfect. Eggs and Omelets, hash browns, and fruit, along with cereal and Starbucks coffee is excellent! There is a nightly cocktail hour, complimentary, and free in-room WiFi which was easy and accessible. Again for a family, a daily $10 value complimentary breakfast is an exceptional way to start your day. While we are not big drinkers, Mrs. D had an adult beverage and I had a diet soda, along with the kids' kiddie cocktails in the evening. The manager's reception had a nice selection of beverages, wines, beer, and cocktails. Benefits of the breakfast, wifi, and beverages, five stars.
Off-to-the-pool! The pool size is executive, but fine for playing and floating. A nice and hot whirlpool is available, along with a steam room and sauna. There is a workout room next to the pool. The pool area was clean, we were the only ones floating in it all night, so there was time and room for pool football. I wish the pool was a bit larger, four stars.
The lobby and atrium are first class, plenty of room to sit and vegetate. The hotel has four stories, 200 plus suites, and an airy feel, that doesn't seem crowded. Its location is Brookfield is close to a mall, walking distance to another restaurant, Chammps, if you choose not to dine in the hotel's restaurant, Fountains Bar and Grill. There is also full room service available through the restaurant. The kids were asleep and we stopped by for a late night beverage and the bar area was very smokey. We took our drinks in the atrium lobby and had a wonderful time. Prices were fair for a hotel bar and restaurant. The service was excellent. Four stars.
An independent, non-chain hotel, Brookfield Suites Hotel is a first class bargain in a Milwaukee suburb. Great price, wonderful amenities, and awesome service makes Brookfiels Suites Hotel a jewel in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
