Before you buy a Bowflex Revolution (Reply to this comment)
by tronplayer
While this machine would be great for those bouncing back from an injury, it is hardly a machine for someone who needs a serious workout. At lighter weights the machine performs ok but feels very fragile at its mid to upper end weight scale. The Bowflex Revolution in no way provides a "gym quality workout" especially at this hefty price tag. I love cable type workouts but the feel of this machine coupled with the cheep plates provided left me disappointed. One other example would be in order to do a leg press you need to reconfigure the machine and the bench feels like it could snap off. Also, expect long shipping delays and insurances for weeks that "it's on the way any day" from the sales staff. (Since this is considered a negative review, it has disappeared from many review sites). This is one of the most over hyped products Ive had the pleasure to test. 5/10 stars IMO.

Bowflex vs. Smith Cage (Reply to this comment)
by shm02
First of all, thanks for such a great review.
My question: Do you think you would get a better workout with the Bowflex Revolution or a cage with a smith system (to do presses and squats alone)? For argument's sake, say the cage is pretty comprehensive with a lat pulldown, low row, and a bench that allows for leg extensions and leg curls. This may be a tough question, but any input you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again.

Isthe BF Rev better than Dummbells? (Reply to this comment)
by immtheteach
Hello there,
I'm about to order the Bowflex Revolution with in a week. I have free weights and dumbbells ranging from 10 to 80 pounds with of course a bench. Do you think purchasing this machine will be a smart move? I would use the BF rev. instead of the free weights. Are you blown away with this machine? Any commments would be greatly appreciated.
