| christymom's Full Review: Isaac Asimov - El fin de la eternidad/ The End of ... |
I recently re-read this book after getting my hands on a copy after searching for two years! When I first read this book 15 years ago in jr. high it had me on the edge of my seat and led me on a journey through the wonderful world of science fiction books. Unlike the Foundation series and I, Robot that most Asimov readers are used to, this book has a beginning and an end in one short volume and deals with time travel in a truly extraordinary fashion.
Though I don't usually like to read time travel books I found myself ensnarlled in this tale that takes a look at time travel from a completely new and intriguing angle. In this story a group of individuals called technicians travel through eternity in order to correct any catostrophic errors that the human race has committed. The tales takes off with the introduction of our main character, a technician, who has broken one of the cardinal rules and fallen in love.
Through careful weaving of plot and graphic descriptions of characters and scenes Asimov draws the reader into his tale and leaves you transfixed. This is a story that leaves you wishing there was another book to come. I would highly recommend this book to readers of science fiction and to those who do not consider themselves connisours of this art form. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. At all costs, get your hands on a copy of this rare jewel. But, as I mentioned above, you may have a hard time finding a copy to borrow or buy. Happy hunting!
