ifif1938's Full Review: Bonne Maman Wild Blueberry Preserves, 13-Ounce Jar...
One of my favorite French finds that I came across many years ago while traveling in France, was Bonne Mamam preserves. The first time I tried them was during a special room service breakfast when we were brought a basket of assorted flavors of jams in small jars with a colorful gingham cloth on the top How very "French Country Chic" I thought even before tasting these very special fruit spreads. There were all my favorite flavors including Blueberry, or as they are called over there Myrtilles. How perfectly delicious this jam was on the warm baguettes and other baked breads and rolls we were served. I was hooked right on the spot and have been ever since. I also love their other flavors, especially blackberry and cherry.
Bonne Maman Wild Blueberry Preserves as well as the other flavors made by the Bonne Maman company are considered one of the best premium preserves and jelly's in the world and are exported to more than 100 countries. When taste tested they always get the seal of approval and are the "Gold Standard" when compared to other preserves made by other companies. They are considered one of France's best products and is the number one best selling product of its kind . The best thing about Bonne Maman is that now these scrumptious preserves can be found just about everywhere premium foods are sold or served in France and here in America.
Bonne Maman Wild Blueberry Preserves contain all natural ingredients; wild blueberries, sugar, cane sugar, fruit pectin and citric acid. That's it! No corn syrup or artificial flavorings, preservatives, colorings or other thickening agents, not even any purees, juices or fruit concentrates .Just the pure fruit is used. That's it!
You can see and taste that fruit in the whole berries which are found in every bite you take whether spread on a bagel, English muffin, a simple piece of toast or with the Blintzes I put them on. Even a peanut butter and jelly sandwich tastes special with Bonne Maman Wild Blueberry Preserves on one of those slices of bread.
I must admit to having a sweet tooth as anyone who has read my reviews will have noticed. I even go so far as to use these preserves in egg omelets. Just a spoonful in the center of two eggs cooked on one side, then flip the egg mixture over halfway, cook a few more minutes and you've got a really special breakfast sweet treat.
These preserves come in a large 13 ounce jar which sells for about $3.99 to $4.99 in most grocery or specialty stores. Sometimes they go on sale and just this week I found them selling for $3.75 in Publix where I shop.
