Kyra's Full Review: Bissell 1715-G Spotlifter Bagless Handheld Vacuum
Let's face it, if you have pets living in your house...there are going to be accidents from time to time no matter how house-trained you think they are!!! Cleaning pet stains from the carpet the conventional way with a brush and a bottle of resolve worked, but I always felt like I was rubbing the stain in instead of lifting it out.
As soon as we moved into our new place I decided to make a change in my spot removal methods. I decided to go out to the store and buy Bissell's Little Green Machine to lift out my stains instead of rubbing them in. I was ready to fork over the $75 it was going to cost me to ensure my new house would be clean and odor free.
I was at the store with the Little Green Machine in my arms ready to place into my cart when I just happened to notice the Bissell Spot Lifter also displayed on the shelf. I took a moment to read the box of the Spot Lifter and compared it to the functions of the Little Green Machine. To my delight the Spot Lifter did all the functions of the Little Green Machine, but in a handheld rechargeable model. And...it was $40 cheaper, what luck! I happily took my purchase to the checkout and plugged it in to charge as soon as I got home.
My first stain removal took place in our vehicle the very next day. Unfortunately one of my dogs got car sick in the back seat. And to make it worse, I didn't see it happen at the time and only discovered the stain as I was doing a quick inside cleaning. I can honestly say I've never been so happy to see a stain. I retrieved my Bissell Spot Lifter from it's charger and handed it to the man of the house to handle. We had our doubts and knew that this would probably be a tough stain to remove since it had been sitting there for at least a day. After mixing the solution my hubby sprayed the spot and let it sit for 3-5 minutes as the instructions directed. Then just like magic the power of our Bissell sucked away all of the gunk and left it fresh smelling. This was now my new best friend!!
Cleaning the collection tank was easy. All I had to do was hit the release button to remove it from the main body and then rinsed it out in the sink. What a Beautiful Little Machine! They should be standard issue at every house. Frankly I don't know how I ever survived without it.
Some other fun features of the Spot Lifter is:
• It has a detachable scoop located on the bottom for removing surface material before you use the Spot Lifter.
• The spray nozzle is adjustable. It can range from a wide to a narrow stream.
• It comes with a squeegee to use for spills on hard floors or even to clean your windows if you would like.
• You can use the crevice tool to clean stains along baseboards or in corners.
• It comes with a wall mount for easy storage.
The only thing that I have a grievance with is that when fully charged, it only lasts for about 4-5 minutes. But I guess that's the price you have to pay for portability. This product gets two thumbs up from me and I know it will come in very handy when our Son starts crawling around. Mr. Bissell, give yourself a big pat on the back!
