Pros: Matte finish, no caking, great in pictures, colorless, odorless, healthy
Cons: Expensive
The Bottom Line: Definitely all it claims to be. The only product from BE that I'd pay a high price for again.

| anae428's Full Review: Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil Powder |
I'm a big fan of the Bare Esentuals line, but I think the pricing and the extension of their line has gone a bit overboard. For instance, it first started off with the foundation, then the bronzer, then the mineral veil, then the eyeshadow, and now even mascara!
Now, ladies, I can completely understand buying the foundation AND the mineral veil, because those are the items you are going to apply ALL over your face, so a non-clogging healthy foundation is "esentual" and it's a great investment. But to go broke over the whole line of products is NOT going to cure you of aging AND I don't believe you should wear ANY makeup in bed, as Bare Esentuals claims for their products. That's just nasty. No matter how healthy makeup is, there is always going to be something bad in it, things that they're not going to tell you.
So let me get to the reason I decided to write a review about MINERAL VEIL as opposed to all the other products to write about...
Mineral veil works even if you don't buy Bare Esentual's foundation to go along with it. In fact, it works better. Bare Esentuals claims their products isn't a powder, but trust me, it shows like a powder when you cake all their products on all together. The other day, I put on my BE concealer on some trouble spots, then my BE foundation, the Warmth brozer, then the BE mineral veil. The result: I looked like the girl that everyone talks about at work, at school, at a social even....."THE GIRL THAT WEARS TOO MUCH MAKEUP." I had to take all that junk off my face immediately. The products held up great, but it just wasn't for me. Even the host/president of Bare Esentuals, Leslie, looks fake. Even from tv you can tell it looks like it took her hours to apply all that crap on her face.
So I decided to do things my own way...I ditched the foundation AND the Warmth Bronzer, which was, combined, what was making me look so fake. I decided to use my cheapo Bonne Bell bronzer on my face instead with the BE concealer underneath. Then I use the Mineral Veil on top of the bronzer to give me the perfect matte finish. It works soooo well. So here's the routine that saves me tons of money:
1) Bare Esentuals Concealer ONLY on needed spots
2) Old cheapo bronzer powdered gently on face
3) Mineral Veil to finish the look & stop your face from looking powdery OR oily (depending on skin type)
So there you have it girls. We went from using 4 of BE's products (Foundation, Concealer, Mineral Veil & Warmth) to just 2, with better results.
About the MINERAL VEIL bottle:
.06 ounces / 2 g
Ingredients: zea mays (corn) startch, zinc stearate, magnesium stearate, methylparaben, propylparaben, iron oxides
All in all, don't believe everything you hear. BE is a great line to try, but I've narrowed my needs down to only their Mineral Veil, and I've ditched their foundation & Warmth, and all the other products they try to sell you at bank-breaking prices.
Stay as natural as possible and invest in a product that's most versatile & effective for you. MINERAL VEIL is by far the most useful product on the Bare Escentuals line, actually, on the market.
