| kgrady's Full Review: Banana Boat 0 Dri Block Sand Won'T Stick Lotion SP... |
In the past I've always used SPF 50 waterproof sunscreens, but hated the greasy skin they'd leave behind as well as the thick waterproof coating on my hands. Since my kids are getting old enough to apply their own sunscreen (at least to their arms and legs), I wanted to get something they could easily apply. I picked up some Banana Boat Kids Dri-Blok last summer and loved it. It's easy to apply and doesn't leave a greasy feeling.
This spring I sought out Banana Boat Kids Dri-Blok SPF 30 when I went to purchase sunscreen. At first Target didn't have it in stock, so I went with my old stand-by, Banana Boat Kids Sunblok SPF 50. It's such a pain to get off my hands when I'm done so as soon as the Dri-Block appeared in the store I picked up 2 bottles of it. I quickly switched over to the Dri-Block even though the SPF 50 wasn't finished. Even though the SPF is lower, because of the ease of application I tend to reapply it more frequently. With the SPF 50, I'd rather just go inside when it wears off than reapply it. I never apply the SPF 50 unless I have access to a sink where I can go wash my hands.
Last week we spent a week at the beach in Cape May, NJ. The kids and I used the Banana Boat Kids Dri-Blok SPF 30 all week and we had no sunburns. I even reapplied at the beach and didn't have the dreaded sticky sand problem. The Dri-Blok went on dry and the sand stayed on the beach. I used up my two bottles and am onto a third I picked up just for the trip.
My only problem with the Kids Dri-Blok is it can be hard to find. I always see the Sport Dri-Blok at CVS and Target but the Kids one seems to be missing or sold out.
