| johnwoz1's Full Review: BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO Truck/SUV Tire |
I bought a set of 285/70 17 bf a/t for my 2006 dodge ram 2500/diesel right when I bought the truck new and haven't been disappointed. I spend a good amount of time off road in VT and ME and haven't experienced a flat yet. I do have some nasty cuts in the sidewalls but I used to run the b.f. mud terrains on my old truck and blew out lots of sidewalls. I've got 46k miles on these tires and still have a good amount of tread left. I would rate it's on road snow performance as extremely good whether powder or slush and I've logged thousands of miles on nothing but logging roads with limited plowing. I would only rate it's rock or ledge climbing ability as good as I have had problems with traction that the mud terrains did not. On road the tires handle excellent with my truck and cornering is very tight with no noticeable sidewall flex. I've also had 2 tons in the bed (I know it's only a 3/4 ton) and the tires handled the loads with no problems. Noise is not an issue as they are very quiet for an all-terrain tire. Unfortunately you do need to rotate these tires regularly as I have some excessive uneven wear on mine. (Never rotated) my own fault. Forget about any kind of thick mud with these tires as they do not perform well. Loose mud I've never had a problem with.
