Pros: light,fast,design,desktop and everything else
Cons: aim quits, itunes (but that is probably my fault)
The Bottom Line: I love my MAC and I will continue to buy MACs forever!!

I got this laptop as a gift from my parents. I knew that I had wanted a MAC laptop and was pondering between the iBook and the Powerbook. I compared the features of each notebook and I decieded to go with the iBook because it had everything that I needed except for office Suite which I also ordered.
BASIC INFO: The iBook G4 has recently been upgraded. This laptop comes with 512 megabytes standard as well as a 40 gb hard drive, a 12.1 inch display, and built in airport wireless. The sysem comes with apple works for word processing, MAC OS X for an operating system with Tiger which has a really cool feature called your dashboard where you have widgets which are mini programs like your current weather, calculator, clock, and you can download many more for FREE. For a drive, this machine does NOT have the superdrive. It has a CD+RW_DVD Rom. You can watch DVD's but you cannot burn them. That is the only difference from the superdrive and the standard drive. If you want the superdrive you have to get the ibook 14.1 inch screen or the powerbook. There is no available option to get it for this computer. The trackpad mouse has instant scrolling. You just put two fingers on the pad and move them to scroll on the screen. You can get the computer configured in English or Western Spanish. AppleCare is an extra 250.00 but I did not purchase it. I hope that I don;t regret this later on.
My Experience: when it finally came, it was well pacaged inside a brown box with paper all aorund the regulr box that it comes inside of. I took it out of the box and it turned on instantly. The screen came up with a few questions on how I wanted the system configured. The computer immediately detected my wireless network. After that was done I instantly began using it. I installed Microsoft Office Suite 2004 on the computer. As I explored the features of this computer, I relaized that it was a lot easier to use than my windows computer. It seemed more up to date and I am running XP on my windows computer. I love the dashboard feature which makes cool exiting screen affects when you close it. The battery has up to 6 hours of life but it never really does last that long. The computer is very quiet too. It makes no noise at all unless you are loading a CD into the drive. The computer only weighs about 4.9 pounds and therefore is very easy to carry around. The only problem I have had with the computer so far is that AIM sometimes quits automatically and I cannot seem to firgure out how to watch tv shows that I have bought from itunes on my computer. A blnk screen just comes up with gray but it says that its playing. Any help would be appreciated.
Overall I love this thing and have barely had any trouble with it. My windows computer constantly gave me trouble. i have always had problems with Dell. I love my MAC so much, I will never buy another windows computer!! I'm sold, the MAC iBook G4 is great!!
