Patti1991's Full Review: Answer One-Step Pregnancy Test
Because it took so long for my husband and I to conceive our daughter, I think I've tried every pregnancy test on the market. I haven't used any other brand since I found the Answer One-Step test.
This pregnancy test is very easy to read. The box says you can use it as early as the day you miss your period, but I've been known to use it a few days earlier. It detects the pregnancy hormone (known as HCG) at as little as 50 ml. Most other pregnancy tests detect the hormone at a level of 100 ml or higher. This means that when you use the test, you can be confident that the result will be accurate.
Other pregnancy tests sometimes leave what they call an "evaporation line". By this I mean that the treated portion of the stick that would change colors if you are pregnant will turn a grey or off-white color. This can lead to confusing results of your test. With the Answer brand, I have found no evaporation line with any of the tests I have used. I can take the test with confidence that the test will be easy to read.
I have purchased this test in two different varieties. One is just a stick that you urinate on and wait 1 minute for your results. The other variety contains a collection cup in the box that you can use and then dip the stick into the cup.
A few words of advice with your pregnancy test. Be sure to use first morning urine or don't use the bathroom for 2.5-3 hours before you take the test to make sure enough of the HCG hormone is in your system. Make sure you lay the stick on a flat surface (don't pace your bathroom floor while holding it in your hands!). Do not read the test after one hour. I have never had a second line appear on this test when not pregnant, but with other tests I have had a second line appear after the test had been discarded.
I have found this brand to come with coupons that are right on the box to redeem at the register. I have also found the Answer brand in a 2-pack and a 3-pack variety. The test is one of the inexpensive brands on the market and I've found no problems with the Answer brand.
