| greenlobster's Full Review: Anna's Taqueria |
The Beacon Street location of Anna's Taqueria fulfilled every one of my desires for a quality Mexican restaraunt. The faire is simple, yet all types will be able to select a meal that will please them and fill them up. The standard items are burritos, super-burritos, tacos, and quesadillas with a variety of fillings. The grilled chicken is tender, juicy, and hinted with a charred/smokey flavor. The beef is succulently juicy and left full of flavor. The chile verde (tender stewed pork) melts in your mouth accompanied by a mild and subtle verde sauce. The carnitas (slow roasted stringy pork) is not overly moist and it bustles with the natural flavors of the pork. The vegetables are all fresh and lightly grilled, not limp. The options for beans are pinto, refried pinto, and black. All the beans come tender and flavoful, not soggy and overcooked. I reccomend the refried, as they hold the burrito together and they are easier on American tastebuds. The rice has moisture and is not overflavored so it compliments the burrito without trying to flavor it. The guacamole is mild and fresh, bursting with the good taste of avocados. Lastly, the salsa is simple full of fresh tomatoes and onions. No "Pace" is served here. The service is friendly and accomidating. This a terrific place to go for inexpensive, high quality, and authentic Mexican food.
Hint: If you are no sure what to order but you want something tame, try the chicken super burrito with refried beans and guacamole, you can't go wrong!
