I have heard of no new ownership, but technology marches onward: As long as your expectation is low enough eventually technology will progress to the point where anyone can make what you want for cheap. To wit, Compaq computers...
I have a pair of wooden cased Advent speakers from the seventies and they're really something. They sound just as good as the day they were new.

Back in the old days, the name Advent was really meant something. It was started by Henry Kloss and the products were engineered for great value and quality for the money. Advent was sold, however, and the new owners set out to cash in on the name and the products were chintzy and of poor acoustic quality. They began to sell them through the mass merchandisers - Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, etc.

So, I'm surprised when I see a report on an Advent product that sounds decent!

Maybe they've gone through another ownership change or have decided to offer better products?
