I am a management professional (also know as a medical librarian) and must sign off on many documents daily during my working hours. This requires my signature to be legible, durable and professional. With my Cross Ion Pen, I always have a pen at hand and know my signature will stand out with a flourish.
The best feature about this pen is the attachment that allows me to clip it to me. I have to wear a name badge during work so I clip it to the back of my badge and I never have to fumble for a pen. The look of surprised and quizzical people when I whip out my pen is worth the price alone! I often get comments like "Hey, let me take a look at that" or "How neat is that!".
The second best feature is the relatively small size. This is a pocket sized pen that pulls open with one hand. The pen itself is 3 1/2 inches long when closed and extended is 4 1/2 inches. Even though I clip it to my name badge, the pen is subtle, and most folks never know it is there until I unsnap it.
The writing tip is .7 mm which is clear and smooth uninterupted flow and is considered a medium thin writing line. The ink is non smearable and durable. This pen uses a gel ink which literally glides onto the page.
I use my pen every day and each cartridge lasts for approximately 2 months. There are a variety of colors although I just use black and blue. They are easily ordered from Office Depot and cost around 3.00 each. I've installed several and it's literally a snap to insert a new cartridge.
Have I mentioned how fun this pen is to use? It is sleek, snappy, crisp and just plain fun to write with - I really do think my signatures look better than when using a a regular ink pen. There are some nice rubber finger guards which feel good when you grip the pen.
An all around great pen, Cross distinction and style with an ergonomic twist. A good gift for any college grad or young professional.
The cost is not too bad - approximately 20.00 per pen. Cross backs all of their products for life in case you have any mechanical difficulties.
