Most of the reviews here refer to the 92-x Aero. Not this one. I needed a vehicle that would be a good daily commuter, easy on fuel, and versitle. As nice as a turbo would have been, the turbo requires premium fuel. 227hp in the Aero is nice, but in a daily commute when will you ever use all that power? The 92-x Linear has a great 2.5L F4 that is perfect for daily driver duty.
I took a look at all the options, and stuck with the base 92-x Linear. Heated seats would be nice, but I can live without them. Leather seats are hard to maintain. The sunroof is small and not worth the price. If you can drive manual, do it. You get better performance out of the manual than the automatic. I test drove both, and the automatic had odd shift points.
I also test drove the 92-x Linear's cousin, the Impreza 2.5RS Wagon. The Saab is more refined in every way. The Saab is quieter, rides better, and looks better.
I've been accused of being frugal & cheap. I tell everyone "It's not about cheap, it's about maximizing what I get for my hard earned dollar." If you read this while the GM employee discount is availabe, go get your Saab 92-x right now! To tell you the truth, the employee discount promotion is what makes this car competitive with other models. You get Sweedish refinement, Japanese Engineering & Build Quality, & get to take advantage of the weak position of GM in the market. Comparitive luxury at a bargain price!
