I've had this bike for about 3 years now, and it's been 100% wonderful. I'm 6'2", 240lbs and this somewhat small bike is still comfortable. (great seat!) I live in LA, and my Kawa 500 ltd is my daily commuter. This is the ideal big city commuter bike. The profile is slim, so white-lining between traffic is a breeze. There is plenty of acceleration to get you away from those crazy drivers, and the construction is top notch.
Other people really like this bike as well. I get compliments from other riders, ladies, kids, etc. Even the die hard Harley guys will give a wave on the highway, something I've never seen a v-twin knockoff get.
I've been hit head-on twice and sideswiped once while riding this bike in the past 3 years, and each time I was able to walk (or limp) away from the accident. This is largely due to the Kawasaki engine guard I installed, as well as the overall construction quality of Kawasaki bikes. I HIGHLY recommend an engine guard, and it's a great place to put a nice pair of highway pegs
My Kawa 500 has been rebuilt twice now, and is still the most reliable thing I own. After the second time It was laid down, the oil cap had worked itself out and all the oil leaked out while I was riding it home. Three days later, I rode it to my bike shop across town(I had no idea the oil had all leaked out), and the bike was fine. Not just fine, there was no damage whatsoever. A real trooper. I would recommend to anyone.
