| gogilgau's Full Review: 2001 Yamaha Wolverine |
I've read lots of reviews so far on the wolverine and Most of them are from people who don't own one. Myself and 4 of my best friends each have a wolverine. Seeing larger machines out there doesn't change my mind that i bought exactly the right machine. The wolverine is made for fast trail ridding. It's geared for playing in the woods or hills at high speed. It has a low center of gravity, thin long seat (great for throwing your weight arround corners). I race a 500 rubicon regularly and he pulls ahead a bit till about 20 MPH, then they are the same to top end, But the wolverine has 3 sets of Vented Hydraulic disc brakes to yank you to a stop (Honda still uses drum brakes). The suspension, weight ballance and gearing of the Wolverine make it so nothing keeps up with in in the trails. When everybody is white knuckles on a 4' wide trail with trees on each side, the Wolverine flies through like a professional downhill skiier. Lots of machines are more powerfull in the mud, some have a winch, some are real stump pullers, but if you like F18 performance on a 4x4 that goes in virtually all the same places the heavy machines do, then get yourself a Wolverine now.
