| joepopps's Full Review: 2000 Yamaha TT-R125 |
I got a 2002 TT-R 125 for Xmas. What a great bike. I was a Honda guy ,but my Yamaha experience has changed my mined abou the quality of their machines. THERE AWSOME. I'm 170lbs. and mine is still sotck ,even though the thing hauls. I trail ride and I couldn't ask for my in a reliable bike. One of my fav. things about the bike is the power band. It has a great bottem for some pretty good wheelie action. I have a Honda Sportrax 250EX and this bike will keep up with it on a trail. It even keeps up with my buddies Wolverine 350.It would probably get wasted in a drag race by either one of theese quads ,but in the trail it does just fine. I do some minor jumping with it and the shocks don't bottom out over a table top or a flat landing.(as long as you don't push your luck) Something that realy impressed me with the TT-R was it's hill climbing. If you've read that it could use more horse this is from the motocross guys. I think the only real things Yamaha could have done to make this better is to improve the fornt shocks with something like out of a YZ 80 and improve the ugly plain graphics. I was going to buy an XR 100 and I'm glad I got the TT-R It is a good fast quality dirtbike that is not outdated or old. The bike has so much hidden potential. When you first buy it your thinking it's goin to be an XR but a little faster. This bike has enough power that it pulls the wheels of the ground shifting into 3rd gear. If I had to make a guess I think it a stock TT-R will do about 45-50 MPH.
