Actual Drive and Firmware is made by NEC. It is actually an NEC1100 DVD Burner that is purchased widely by other companies and relabeled for sale.
Drive worked fine from very beginning and after burning 10-15 DVD, it has not made a single "coaster" due to software other than by my own mistakes with authoring files.
Quality seems to be great and Roxio CD&DVD Creator 6.0 works just fine with no problems. Drive burned regular CDRW or CDR discs with great reliability.
I am very happy with the product and I would reccoment buying it. The only thing that I would add to the package is different software. Nero Burning Rom 6.0 is more capable and allows to utilize DVD burner more that Roxio product, but if you don't want to get too fancy burning DVD from scratch, this software package is plenty capable to meet needs of most people.
