be careful if you are porting your number!

I ordered a cell phone on Friday afternoon w/request to port my number to a new carrier. Per the website the port would not occur until after I received the phone so that I could continue to use my current phone until I received the new one. My phone was ported on Friday and I was unable to use my phone until I received it on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday). Customer service was not very helpful as the agent kept referencing "...but you will get your phone with in two days." Which in reality was 5 days due to weekend and holiday. Due to the mistake, they offered me a $25 gift card to purchase something else from their site but it requires them to mail me a questionnaire, complete it and mail it back "only costing the customer $.39 for postage" and then I will receive the credit via mail with in 4-6 weeks.

The "License Raj" of online shopping

An experience so horrible it was almost comical. It should have been simple; sign me up for a 2 year plan, sell me a high-end smartphone, port my number. Suffice to say that, just to get to the point where they claim (for the second time) to have shipped, I had to (1) make 6 or 7 calls to their "service" reps; (2) make multiple calls and other contacts to 2 credit rating bureaus; (3) make a personal on-site visit to the phone service provider. This was my worst ever online shopping experience, and if you are considering Wirefly, run, do not walk, in the other direction.

I was attempting to purchase a phone and a plan through Wirefly. I called customer service with ONE simple question before ordering.
The service rep was not only too incompetent to understand or answer my question, but he also got extremely rude, interrupting me several times and raising his voice.
He told me "This is a sales line, do not call back until you are ready to order" I proceeded calmly to tell him that I was ready to order, and I only needed this one question answered. As I was repeating my question, he raised his voice and interrupted me, repeating what he said before.
I told him to lower his voice and not to interrupt me, and asked if I could call back later when someone competent was working. He then hung up on me.
After that experience, and reading online reviews of the site, I will definitely not be ordering from or recommending Wirefly.

The Worst Experience - Wirefly

Hi friends,
i have been cheated by Wirefly.com. They sold me a motorazr with a mail in rebate of $170. After a lot of struggle, after a period of 4mnths, they said that they have despatched the cheque to me. I never got it.
They said that they would send another cheque in another period of 3-4mnths. even that never came.
my phone number is 864-320-1408. please contact if u need any more clarifications on this.
Beware of these cheaters.

THEY RIPPED ME OFF FOR $50 BUCKS!! S an average Joe I would have gone to prison or AT least small claims court and been HUNG for such practices...like the others I thought WIREFLY was a nice side by side comparison of all the plans but I have NEVER seen such horrible customer service. It took them a YEAR to process my two $50 rebates and in the end I only got one after following their procedures METICULOUSLY. THESE GUYS DESERVE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!!

Unhappy and dissatisfied.

Very unhappy.
Wirefly assigned me a long distance phone number when I purchased my new tmobile service through them (from a cite 3 hours away - a long distance call from my area code). I immediately called tmobile to have this changed, for obvious reasons. Then Wirefly denied all of my rebates ($120 worth) because "All rebate offers are contingent upon new activation of service. When you change your mobile number directly with the carrier, the carrier may report the original mobile number as out of service. If we cannot verify that the account is still active with the carrier, we cannot approve the rebate."
This was Wirefly's mistake. I am starting to think they did it on purpose so they could get out of paying me my rebates. I am VERY dissatisfied and would NEVER do service with them again.
ps. Their call center is in India and no matter how many times you call, you will get someone who barely speaks english. Don't bother trying to tell them your problem - they are just reading a script and they don't understand what you are asking.

Prices are great - rebates are impossible to comply with. Small window of time when rebate must be submitted - more than one rebate - requires different time periods - I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM, unless you don't use any rebates...

Buying the phone and plan was easy. They assured me that I would be able to port my old number.... that I could change the plan into someone else's name after their 6 month contract was up.... they even offered me a rebate to cover the additional cost I would incur for not being under my father's name (who is an AT&T employee... I chose a cingular plan) In fact they'll tell you anything to get you to sign up. Even LIES! You cannot change your plan to someone else's name... you have to cancel your contract and incur an early termination fee. Oh, and they NEVER ported my number they gave me a new on and basically said, "Tough, that's the way it it."
DO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH WIREFLY in ANY WAY!!! They lie, cheat and SCAM!

MASTERS OF FRAUD

I bought two pairs of RAZR cell phones, one pair on Cingular and other on Verizon 4 months apart. I meticulously followed rebate instructions and sent them via Certified Mail confirming delivery. They have refused to send me the total rebate amount of $900 claiming that my rebate was not submitted on time! Reading other's experience I'm not alone. I hope similar experiences (numerous on the web) will save others from these slick SCAM ARTISTS. Next time I will purchase products with rebates offered directly by the manufacturer or the phone company.

Don't buy a phone from wirefly.

Wirefly lied about same day shipping. I also paid extra for next day shipping and got the phones 3 days later. Wirefly won't refund my extra shipping charge. Customer service number goes to call center in India where they are very polite & very incompetent about solving your problems. Instant on-line customer service is useless. Email customer service is also very polite but extremely useless....they didn't even know FeEx delivers on Saturday for regular shipping.
Wirefly also gave my phone numbers with the wrong area code..I had to get Cingular to issue new numbers(fortunately, they waived setup fees of $62.)
Wirefly is incompetent & could careless about customer satisfaction.

Beware of Rebate Processing

Beware of doing business with InPhonic and Wirefly. Their $90 rebate makes is extremely hard for you to see the money. They you have to collect a bunch of statements and time your mailing in the forms just right. It is very, very easy to make a mistake and have them deny the rebate. They outsource their customer service and rebate processing, so you are never talking to the right people to get help. Do yourself (learn from my mistake) and go somewhere else.

Product, Moto phones, good.
But, if your purchase involves a rebate forget Wirefly. They just won't deliver on their rebate promise. They are just running a rebate scam as best as I can tell.

Horrible customer service, barely understandable English, complete disregard for the customer requests, terrible wait times when you want to talk to a customer rep, complete lack of communication within the Wirefly (of course, due to "computer problems"), weird requests to provide them with numbers (confirmation, registration, ACE location, etc) from the past and the future service provider. Enough? I waited four days (after paying for the 2-day service!), called and was told that they have not shipped yet. Thank G*d! Cancelled immediately...

Wirefly Inphonics has ripped me off, I have been waiting for my rebate since march 2006 its now Oct 19, 2006 and all I get is a statement that they received it and they are processing and when I call the number for more info it just tells you they are busy and to try back with no option to hold and wait to speak to anyone.

Customer service has been very good. My only complaint is that I was led to believe that the phone I ordered included a free headset and I didn't get one. The customer service rep said I need to provide proof of the exact promotion at the time I ordered the phone because they don't have a way to verify what promotions were going on even if you give them your order date. I still had a good experience w/Wirefly. I'll just print the ad next time.

Customer service is really poor,untrained representatives are there in call center.They don't have any communication with each other.I cancelled my order because their conditions were unacceptable for me.Now I got my contract from T MOBILE directly.I am happy & satisfied to pay rather then getting free phone from cheap company.
