Pros: Always on sale & has rebates making it cheaper & easy to setup Cons: None
When you think of wireless or wired routers not many people think of Belkin as a reliable brand. Most choose wireless or wired routers by Netgear, D-Link, Motorola, or Linksys. I have tried many wired routers before & have had good luck with many of ...
Pros: Easy setup. Great deal for the money. Cons: My version does not work with Azureus (P2P), and tech support was of no help.
I bought this particular Belkin router because it was extremely cheap after rebate and because my previous Netgear router required resetting on a regular basis. After installing it, I was pleasantly surprised that it set up so easily, and that it ...
Pros: - easy setup
- offers latest security
- range is excellent Cons: - network cable provided is kinda short
- the signal fluctuated a little
I bought this at CompUSA because it's a 802.11g router and after mail-in rebates, it would only be about $10 out of pocket. I set it up in the basement of my house (which has the main floor and a second floor) because that's where my current PC is. ...
Pros: OK for starting a simple wireless network
Cons: Difficult to set up in an existing network
It would probably work fine if this is your only router, and you just want to share internet access with wireless computers nearby. However, I encountered some problems trying to integrate this into a home network that already had a wired-only NAT box ...
Pros: Easy setup, strong wireless signal, nice admin interface. Cons: None. I was very satisfied.
I bought this router because I got a nice rebate for it but also because my current router sucked a fat one. I used to use (until last night) a SMC 7004WVBR which was a very mediocre router. I often got weird quirks with my internet connection which was ...
Pros: 802.11G for about $60. Cons: Lack of instructions for wireless and shotty diagnostics
Setting up wired networks were an ease. Pop in the CD and follow the bouncing ball. No brains or skills required there. The fun came in when I tried using it in a hotel which had wireless access. My laptop is not wireless ready and I forgot my card at ...
Pros: Easy installation through the wizards; good price; nice firewall, security features and operating range. Cons: None so far
I was about to move from a small apartment to a larger house so I wanted easy connectivity for my growing home network (two desktop PCs I assembled myself and my new HP Pavilion laptop.) One day I found the wireless gear I needed on sale and it happened ...
Pros: Simple to setup, stable, and very compatible with various wireless network cards. Cons: Included network cable is a joke.
I see a lot of people setting up wireless networks at home. Quite literally; well maybe not the people, but I do see their networks. In fact, wherever I travel I am grateful to the wide-open connections they leave me to get on-line. Nothing better than ...
Pros: cheap Cons: poor support and misleading marketing
This has got to be my worst buying experience when it comes to computer related products. I bought 2 of these a while back because they were on sale at best buy. The first one works ok, but the back of the box implies that it will do frame bursting so ...
Pros: Easy set up, Firewall, WEP, Mac compatible, nice design. Cons: Range
I looked around for an alternative to the Apples Airport Base station. Belkin 54g seemed liked a good alternative. Although I couldn't find any reviews for the Mac side of wireless routers, I was not disappointed. The range could be better though, ...
Pros: config page well laid out, reliable, never crashes, pretty! Cons: wireless network setup slightly confusing
belkin's routers have been known to have issues, so when we initially got this router for our apartment, i was extremeley wary, to say the least. but it blew me away. unlike belkin's routers of the past, this router has yet to crash on me or slow ...
I bought this as a cheap wi-fi solution a few months back. It was pretty easy to set up, and I liked the small size of the unit. Recently, however, I have had nothing but trouble with it. My computer (which is in the next room) constantly loses its connection at which point the router has to be power cycled (sometimes as many as 4 times) to get my connection back. Belkin support offered no help except to tell me that there is some sort of environmental interference that is causing this (BS!) They could not explain why when it does connect that I get a VERY strong connection and always the max bandwidth. I also always have trouble getting into the configuration page (it loads about three lines of text and quits.) I thought I may be able to fix my issues by updating the device firmware, but there is no updated version offered on Belkin's website. I have been in the IT business for the last 9 nears, and have never had this much trouble out of a wireless router. My suggestion is to spend a few extra bucks and get something worthwhile.
Pros: Wireless coverage spans a great distance. Easy install/easy to use. Cons: Didn't run into any.
This was a very easy product to use. I had no trouble setting it up and putting WEP encryption on it. Never had to call tech support. You don't need to be a tech guru to set this product up. It works pretty well after being setup and the wireless distance it spans is quite large, I was impressed with it for the price.
Pros: 54g is nice, when it works Cons: always resetting itself
wireless connection is always disconnecting
this router was a total waste of money, since day 1 i've had problems with it. Now, it freezes and disconnects from the internet for no apparent reason. Pretty much EVERY day im having to do a factory reset on this damn thing since it is always disconnecting the wireless computers i have connected. The DCHP client list never displays any computers, yet they are all connected to the internet through it. Complete piece of crap, dont waste your money on this hunk of junk from a cheapskate company with support centres in INDIA!!!!!!!
Pros: solid, good web interface for setup. Web filter service, good wireless range. Cons: none so far
Excellent router! I replaced a Siemens 4 port wired with this unit and it has not missed a lick. My broadband connections are always lightning fast and my 4 pc wired home network works flawlessly. It has been online for only 5 days but never a dropped connection nor any reboots required. The 6 month free website filter subscription is the best I've seen. I tried my friends wireless G laptop and could go anywhere in the house and get 40-54 mbps connections. Pretty good since the router is in the basement. The best part is it costs $10.00 after rebate!
