Lee Kum Kee: a brand name for Chinese home cooking!

I admit it: I order Chinese food take-out more than I cook it at home. However, one of the Lee Kum Kee products is a frequently used, "must have" in my kitchen: the minced ginger. I love to cook and find that many of the marinades that I like to prepare and several other recipes call for fresh minced ginger. After taking the skin off of my knuckles trying to mince fresh ginger on a grater, I gave up! I found a jar of the Lee Kum Kee minced ginger and have used it exclusively since.
In this product, minced ginger is packed in a neutral/no flavor liquid in a 7.5 oz jar for $2.69. Admittedly, I rarely use an entire jar before it ages in my refrigerator and I must throw the last bit in the jar out to open a new jar. However, the small bit of wastage is well worth it! This works great in any recipe calling for minced ginger. You simply measure out what you need and squeeze the liquid out of it (discarding the liquid) before using the ginger in your recipe. I have given this product to a few friends and all agree that the flavor in their recipes is excellent. Try it...you'll like it!
Lee Kum Kee manufactures over 70 varieties of Chinese sauces and food products. Their most popular products (that I know about) are Sesame Oil, Chili Garlic Sauce, Guilin Chili, Plum Sauce and Oyster Sauce. I can now find these products easily in my (chain) grocery store in the Boston suburbs, so my guess is that they are readily available throughout the US. However, if you use recipes that require fresh ginger and cannot find Lee Kum Kee at your local store, get it where I used to, from "Mo Hotta-Mo Betta: The best of Hot & Spicy Food."
