A Crafters Must Have!
Feb 02 '00
Notice how often you see: Tools for the Handyman"? Why not: Tools for the Handywoman"? If your a lady crafter a Dremel Drill is an absolute asset.
I have been using an electric Dremel for over 10 years. It's impossible to list all of its abilities they are endless.
Most crafters are often faced with improvising a technique. Well, this tool is the essential technique tool. Great for small intricate details and for some not so small.
I started using the tool at the beginning to drill holes in small sea shells. I was making jewelry at the time and tried to use a conventional drill which was too big and clumsy and cracked many shells. This little guy saved the day, no more damaged shells. Then the sanding bit, does it with such precision it's hard to believe. Works so very well on all materials you may be working with.
I prefer the electric models over the battery operated. I use it for long periods of time and hate when they have to recharged in the middle of a project.
Over time I have purchased many new bits, some, I just bought out of curiosity, just to see what else it can be used for. If you don't have one of these, you should really try to get to see one in operation. Some hardware stores will plug it in and demonstrate it, if you ask nicely.
A Happy Crafter is most often a Dremel user. Have fun crafting.
