| OrphanN64's Full Review: Vigilante 8 for Nintendo 64 |
This game is great! I had played Twisted Metal for Playstation and longed for it to come to N64. Now, Nintendo has V8 and Twisted Metal went up in flames. The main advertising strategy Nintendo put in our heads was "Blow up everything!" Nothing could be closer to the truth. This game is anything but visually challenged: everything is clear and no blurs. The only bad thing about the graphics is it is a bit cloudy. The characters are full of life though you will wish they did much more for their stories. Everything in V8 is able to blow up. From the wedding chapel in Vegas to a stray rock in canyon land, all can combust. Overall, it does get slowly routine. Other than trying to unlock colorful characters and playing fields, nothing will keep you playing. The good news about that is it will take a while. Tip for beginners: Always play a Coyote in Quest mode. Their tasks are easier.
